Let's Get Cooking: Coastal Nutrition & Food Justice
This interactive cooking class digs into the history, ecology, harvesting practices, and preparation for some of our favorite seaweeds, shellfish, and herbs! Learn tasty recipes to nourish your body, feed your loved ones, and resist the industrial food system.
Re-storying the Redwoods
Gather round for stories from ancient giants! Redwood ecologies teach us community care and the ways that our differences power our environments. In this program we will uncover personal stories as we create tree ring self portraits. As we listen to the wisdom of redwood trees in a guided nature walk, we'll recognize ourselves as unique and beautiful assets to our communities.
Kelp Can Help!
Kelp is a healer, friend, and food! Together we will look at Kelp’s role in protecting our climate, our bodies, and our communities. We'll also explore the ways that we can continue kelp's important work as a water protector and climate guardian! In this program, participants will learn about kelp's medicinal and nutritional benefits by creating kelp salves, snacks, and/or textiles.
Don't Co-Opt...Co-Op!
Join us for an introductory look into the history, structure, and management of cooperative businesses. Together we'll jump into the 7 Cooperative Principles as a means for community care, accountability, and regeneration - all while building economic justice and social connection!
